About Aloco Kitchens
Here at Aloco Kitchens, we pride ourselves on family values & ethical principles upheld and passed down from generation to generation. We strive to deliver these values from within, and from the outset of our company.
We have core competency when it comes to creating your dream kitchen, wardrobes and bespoke furniture.
Our Story
Alan Snr started his carpentry apprenticeship in Dublin port and Docks. He left in 1979 and worked for a few months in North Strand Furniture.
In 1980, Alan Snr and his late brother Shay started up their own kitchen & wardrobe business called S&A Kitchens from a room in ALan Snr’s house in Pearse Square.
Shay had to leave the company due to poor health. Kathleen, Alan’s wife jumped on board and Aloco Kitchens was established.
How We Evolved:
The business was flourishing, and in 1981, Alan built a factory in his back yard, where then came the opportunity to buy the yard next door to the house came up. Alan snapped it up so that he could expand the business.
Sons James and Alan Jnr worked part-time during school holidays and became full-time sometime after.
In 2000, the O’Connor family packed up sticks and expanded to the old church in East Wall. Son James was the main fitter, Alan Jnr was the face of the company and still is to this present day. Alan Snr is the saw technician, and their daughter Pamela is the office manager.
In 2018, the current showroom and factory were opened in Santry.
The Moment:
Through the determination and hard work of the family, the well-respected family business ‘Aloco Kitchens’ was formed.
From moving to our bigger premises in Santry, we have been able to grow our showrooms and give customers greater insight into our bespoke designs.
Our Sales team is being spearheaded by John Carroll, who has brought a wealth of knowledge to the company.
Our increased size of the premises has allowed us to expand our production line, which reduced our lead times, which in turn has enabled us to deliver our finished product to customers rapidly.
We understand the time it takes for our customers to create their dream kitchen, and we aim to make this process as simplistic and hassle-free as possible.
Let Aloco Kitchens make your vision become a reality.
From our family to yours.
Alan O’Connor, CEO
